Toyota Libya today announced the official launch of the new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Land Cruiser FJ, during a special event that reflects the company’s commitment to introducing the latest global technologies and providing advanced mobility solutions that meet the needs and aspirations of customers in the Libyan market.

This launch marks an important milestone in Toyota Libya’s journey, as the Libyan market witnesses, for the first time, the official introduction of a Toyota hybrid vehicle, alongside the launch of a new model designed specifically for adventure enthusiasts and drivers seeking strong performance across a wide range of terrains.

The RAV4 Hybrid represents a major step forward in the Libyan market as the first hybrid vehicle officially introduced by Toyota Libya. Made in Japan, the vehicle is powered by a 2.5-liter gasoline engine working together with an electric motor through Toyota’s hybrid system, delivering a combined output of 226 horsepower. The gasoline engine produces 221 Nm of torque, while the electric motor delivers 207 Nm, providing smooth response and impressive acceleration while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency.

Toyota’s hybrid system intelligently switches between the gasoline engine and electric motor, or operates both simultaneously depending on driving conditions, to achieve the best possible balance between performance and fuel efficiency. The system does not require charging from an external electrical source.

One of the vehicle’s key advantages is its ability to travel up to 1,000 kilometers on a single tank of fuel, representing an increase of approximately 40% compared with the previous gasoline-only model. This provides drivers with a longer driving range while reducing the need for frequent refueling.

The RAV4 Hybrid is also equipped with a range of smart technologies, including voice command functionality that allows the driver to control the air-conditioning system, audio system, and several vehicle functions without touching the screen, contributing to a more convenient and safer driving experience.
